Dear Sir,
We, students and researchers at the Indian Institute
of Science,Bangalore, are shocked at the police atrocities upon
the fasting students and their sympathisers at Jadavpur University on
Friday 10th June. We strongly condemn such outrageous action by the police on the students. We also feel that the administration of Jadavpur
University has failed to deal with the situation in an appropriate manner. We hereby request you not only to intervene and end the current impasse, but also to see that the policepersons who carried out this atrocious attack on the students are suitably punished.
